Information Security Specialist – ICT & IT Security

About the role

The Information Security Specialist joins the university’s IT Department to help protect computer assets and information. Working within the Information Security team, the role focuses on access control, incident response, security awareness and disaster preparedness.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Information Security Manager with daily tasks such as incident response, investigations, project management and reporting.
• Investigate improper access attempts, report violations and create detailed security incident reports.
• Conduct system and process audits to verify compliance with policies, standards and adopted processes.
• Assist in developing and maintaining the university’s IT Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity plans.
• Evaluate current security controls, anticipate future requirements and implement improvements.
• Promote security awareness and stay current with cybersecurity trends.

Required profile

• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to investigate security incidents.
• Good written communication skills for reporting and documentation.
• Interest in continuous learning and staying up‑to‑date with security best practices.

Required skills

• Knowledge of system access controls and privilege management.
• Familiarity with network, server and application security concepts.
• Understanding of disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
