Inspector – Civil & Marine Works

About the role

Parsons is seeking an experienced Inspector to oversee civil and marine construction activities in Abu Dhabi. You will work closely with surveyors, material engineers and the construction team to ensure all works meet design, quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect and monitor civil and marine works such as quay walls, jetties, breakwaters, revetments, pontoons and related structures.
• Verify construction against approved drawings, method statements, ITPs, project specifications and relevant standards.
• Check formwork, reinforcement, concrete, blockwork, structural steel, piling and waterfront elements for alignment, dimensions and workmanship.
• Monitor temporary works (sheet piles, cofferdams, shoring, scaffolding) and over‑water activities, including lifting operations and access platforms.
• Coordinate setting‑out and level verification for marine and coastal structures with surveyors.
• Inspect finishes such as protective coatings, marine‑grade concrete, corrosion protection systems, joint details, fenders, bollards and ladders.
• Witness or perform on‑site field tests, including concrete testing, backfill compaction and pile integrity testing.
• Track health, safety and environmental aspects of inspection activities and report unsafe conditions.

Required profile

• Relevant engineering or construction background with experience in civil and marine projects.
• Familiarity with coastal, waterfront and port infrastructure construction.
• Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications and inspection procedures.
• Ability to work on‑site in a marine environment and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
