Instrumentation Engineer

About the role

GCG Engineering Services, part of Ghobash Group, provides aftermarket support and bulk trading for precision instruments, metering systems, flow controls, heat exchangers, automation and electrical and instrumentation equipment, serving the Oil & Gas, Water, Power and Industrial sectors across the GCC. It is looking for an Instrumentation Engineer in Abu Dhabi to support technical sales, order execution and coordination.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance to customers and the Sales team on product selection based on application requirements.
• Review customer specifications, datasheets, bills of quantities, drawings and purchase orders, and prepare technical submittals, datasheets, drawings, certificates and other project documentation.
• Obtain technical clarifications and supporting documents from suppliers and principals, and coordinate technical deviations.
• Review assigned orders for technical scope, delivery requirements and documentation commitments, then coordinate with Procurement, Logistics, Sales, suppliers and principals to ensure timely delivery.
• Track order progress, document submissions, approvals and delivery schedules, and maintain records of customer requirements and order status.
• Flag potential delays or technical discrepancies to the Sales Engineer or Manager and follow up until orders close.
• Act as the technical coordination point between Sales, internal departments, suppliers and principals, and attend clarification and order progress meetings.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation, Electronics, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience in technical sales support, application engineering or order execution for instrumentation and engineering products.
• Preferred: experience supporting oil and gas, petrochemical or industrial customers.
• Familiarity with supplier and principal coordination, technical submissions and order documentation.

Required skills

• Interpretation of specifications, datasheets, BOQs and engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of instrumentation products and their industrial applications.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with ERP systems is an advantage.
• Strong coordination, communication and follow-up skills, and ability to manage multiple orders and meet deadlines.
