IT Systems Specialist – Emirati Talent

About the role

EDGE Group’s Advanced Concepts division is seeking an experienced IT Systems Specialist to join its Emirati talent pool. You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of the organization’s server and operating system environment.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain servers and operating systems.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
• Administer databases, ensuring data integrity, backups, and recovery.
• Develop and execute backup strategies and disaster‑recovery plans.
• Apply OS and application patches to maintain security and performance.
• Coordinate structured changes to the IT environment.
• Respond to and resolve system incidents and outages promptly.
• Monitor system performance, optimise resources, and ensure high availability.
• Document system configurations, processes, and procedures.
• Collaborate with IT support staff and other departments.
• Contribute to IT policy development and enforcement.
• Provide user training on system functionalities.
• Liaise with vendors for purchases, upgrades, and support.
• Stay current on industry trends and recommend enhancements.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of IT infrastructure administration experience, focusing on servers and system management.
• At least 3 years in a system management role within a mid‑sized organization.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
• Relevant certifications preferred (e.g., Microsoft Certified Windows Server, CCNA, VCP).
• Strong knowledge of NIST 800‑53, CNSSI 1253, data classification, and least‑privilege access principles.

• Backup and recovery solutions.

• Understanding of security frameworks and access‑control models.
