Junior Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a Junior Accountant to join our finance team in Sharjah, supporting a diversified techno‑commercial group operating across engineering, oil & gas, marine, construction and material handling sectors. The role involves handling day‑to‑day accounting activities for multiple entities and ensuring accurate financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day accounting transactions including sales, purchases, receipts, payments, expenses and journal entries.
• Maintain accurate General Ledger, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable records.
• Perform bank, customer, supplier and inter‑company reconciliations.
• Ensure accounting records are accurate, complete and properly documented.
• Prepare financial reports, schedules and management data for multiple group companies.
• Provide financial information and supporting documents to the Internal Audit team.
• Support the Tax & Compliance team with financial data, VAT/Corporate Tax calculations and documentation.
• Assist with month‑end closing, audits and financial reporting.
• Identify discrepancies and ensure timely resolution.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of hands‑on accounting experience in the UAE.
• Detail‑oriented, accurate, organized and proactive.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across Finance, Audit, Tax & Compliance functions.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Excel.
• Experience with accounting/ERP software.
• Knowledge of UAE VAT regulations.
• Understanding of UAE Corporate Tax requirements.
• Hands‑on experience with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes.
• Familiarity with General Ledger management.
• Ability to perform bank and inter‑company reconciliations.
