Junior Accountant

About the role

Xtra Link Transport is looking for a motivated, detail-oriented Junior Accountant in Abu Dhabi to support its daily accounting and financial operations. The role covers bookkeeping, invoice processing, account reconciliations, financial reporting and documentation, with accuracy and compliance with established accounting procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Record daily financial transactions (payments, receipts, income and expenses) and maintain accurate ledgers, accounting records and financial spreadsheets.
• Review invoices, receipts and vouchers for accuracy and completeness, and organize supporting documents.
• Process supplier invoices and payment documentation, maintain customer billing records and follow up on pending payments.
• Investigate basic invoice discrepancies and verify supporting documents.
• Assist with bank and ledger reconciliations, identify discrepancies and report them, and prepare periodic financial summaries and routine reports.
• Support month-end closing and financial reviews.
• Maintain organized physical and digital accounting files and help prepare documents for audits and internal reviews.
• Support VAT-related records in line with UAE requirements and follow internal financial controls.
• Coordinate with departments to collect invoices and receipts, track business expenses, update financial databases and complete tasks on time.

Required profile

• Relevant accounting or bookkeeping experience is beneficial; no minimum duration is stated.
• Numerical accuracy, organization, attention to detail, confidentiality, communication and willingness to learn.

Required skills

• Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, spreadsheets, accounting software and financial record-keeping.
• Understanding of bookkeeping, accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliation and basic financial reporting.
• Familiarity with VAT documentation and UAE accounting requirements is an advantage.
