Ken Fix-It Technician - Guestroom Maintenance

About the role

Raffles Dubai, a 5-star hotel in the city centre, is looking for a Ken Fix-It Technician to carry out preventive and corrective maintenance of guestrooms so that facilities, equipment and fixtures stay in excellent condition and meet hotel quality, safety and brand standards. The role covers civil, electrical, plumbing, HVAC and general maintenance and reports to the Engineering Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance (PPM) of guestrooms according to the approved programme.
• Perform multi-skilled maintenance including civil, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting and minor furniture repairs.
• Repair grouting, silicone, paint, door hardware, plumbing fixtures, electrical faults, GRMS devices, curtain systems, FCUs, filters and actuators, and flush chilled water condensers.
• Inspect rooms during PPM, complete maintenance records and update work orders.
• Ensure tools, materials and spare parts are ready and report recurring defects or major repairs needing specialist help.
• Follow health, safety and environmental procedures and support other engineering team members.

Required profile

• Diploma or trade certificate in mechanical, electrical, air conditioning, building maintenance or a related technical discipline.
• At least 3 years' experience in hotel engineering or facilities maintenance, preferably in a luxury hotel.
• Good command of written and spoken English.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and strong attention to detail.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of guestroom preventive maintenance across civil, electrical, plumbing, HVAC and carpentry.
• Working knowledge of Guest Room Management Systems (GRMS) and hotel room equipment.
• Troubleshooting, teamwork, communication and time management.
