Kitchen Technician

About the role

The St. Regis Abu Dhabi, a Forbes Travel Guide 5-Star hotel with 283 guest rooms and 55 suites, is hiring a kitchen technician. The technician maintains kitchen and laundry equipment and related appliances so that all equipment stays in the best possible condition.

Key responsibilities

• Attend daily briefings and perform major and minor repairs and maintenance of kitchen, hot cooking, refrigeration and laundry equipment.
• Carry out routine preventive and corrective maintenance, record it in a log book and coordinate repair tasks to reduce downtime.
• Keep kitchen and laundry equipment in good working order, including lighting in cold rooms and fridges.
• Follow HACCP and hygiene standards and checklists for kitchen compliance.
• Train and demonstrate safe use of equipment to team members, and inspect the operation and safety of commercial kitchen appliances.
• Maintain inventory of spare parts, attend new equipment training and help colleagues, especially the electrician, and assist the duty engineer with re-stocking consumables.
• Work any shift assigned by management, follow safety rules (HACCP, ADFCA, OSHAD) and report unsafe conditions, equipment damage or suspicious behaviour to the supervisor.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• 2 years of experience as a kitchen technician.
• Hotel engineering or maintenance experience is a plus.
• Able to communicate and work cooperatively with people from diverse backgrounds.
