Kitchen Technician

About the role

The St. Regis Abu Dhabi is looking for a kitchen technician to maintain kitchen and laundry equipment and related appliances across the hotel. The role covers preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting and keeping equipment in good working order, and is a full-time position.

Key responsibilities

• Attend daily briefings and perform major and minor repairs on kitchen, hot cooking, refrigeration and laundry equipment.
• Carry out routine preventive and corrective maintenance, record it in a log book and coordinate repair tasks to reduce downtime.
• Keep kitchen and laundry equipment, including cold room and fridge lighting, in good working condition.
• Follow HACCP and hygiene standards in the kitchen compliance checklist.
• Help re-stock consumables in the workshop, order and maintain spare parts inventory, and train and demonstrate safe use of equipment to team members.
• Work any shift assigned by management or supervisor, assist colleagues and the duty engineer, and report unsafe conditions, equipment damage and suspicious behaviour to the supervisor.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent (preferred).
• 2 years of experience as a kitchen technician (preferred).
• Experience in hotel engineering or maintenance is a plus.
• Able to work any shift and to communicate effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.

Required skills

• Knowledge of commercial refrigeration and kitchen equipment.
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving.
• Compliance with HACCP, ADFCA and OSHAD safety rules.
