Lead Auditor - Food Safety Certification

About the role

Bureau Veritas is hiring a Lead Auditor for its Certification Department in Dubai, reporting to the Food Scheme Lead UAE and Certification Manager UAE. The role covers third-party and second-party food safety audits and certification activities, working closely with the Certification Manager, Technical Manager, Operations Lead, sales and technical teams, and clients.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, conduct, lead and report third-party and second-party food safety audits
• Carry out certification audit activities, including execution, reporting and submission for review and certification decisions
• Coordinate client communication before, during and after audits and manage client expectations, NCRs and report completion
• Maintain impartiality, confidentiality, integrity and independence at all times
• Support additional certification, compliance and operational projects as assigned by Certification Leadership
• Follow field and travel HSE requirements and complete mandatory technical and HSE training
• Keep up to date through professional reading, courses and seminars, and meet KPIs such as audit completion, HSE adherence and report completeness

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in the food industry, food safety management, quality assurance, food production or auditing
• Experience conducting supplier and/or certification audits, and practical knowledge of HACCP and FSMS implementation
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in food science, food technology, microbiology, biotechnology or a related food discipline
• Fluency in English and Arabic; knowledge of HACCP, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000 and BRCGS is required, while QMS, EMS and H&SMS are preferred

Required skills

• Knowledge of ISO standards, ISO 17021, ISO 22003:2022, GAC and accreditation requirements
• Preferred: BRCGS Food V9, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001
• Office 365 (Word, Excel) and planning/scheduling software
