Lead Data Architect

About the role

Etihad Airways is looking for an experienced Lead Data Architect to shape the future of its enterprise data ecosystem. You will define scalable data architectures, drive cloud transformation initiatives, and enable advanced analytics, AI, and business intelligence across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Design and govern enterprise‑wide data solutions aligned with business strategy and technology roadmaps.
• Lead the architecture of modern data platforms, data lakes, data warehouses, and analytics solutions using Azure technologies.
• Define and promote architecture standards, reusable patterns, governance frameworks, and best practices across the Data Agile Release Train (DART).
• Partner with business, product, engineering, and enterprise architecture teams to deliver secure, scalable, future‑ready solutions.
• Drive data governance capabilities including data quality, lineage, metadata, reference data, and lifecycle management.
• Provide architectural leadership across Agile and Waterfall delivery initiatives, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture principles.
• Lead and mentor a team of data architects.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in Data or Solution Architecture within complex environments.
• Proven delivery of Data Warehouse, Big Data, BI, Analytics and Data Science solutions.
• Experience in the airline, aviation, travel or transportation industry is preferred.
• Architecture certifications such as TOGAF, SAFe Architect, ArchiMate or Open CA.
