Lead Site Reliability Engineer

About the role

Lead the reliability, availability and performance of Air Arabia’s mission‑critical Java‑based applications and airline reservation systems. The role drives operational excellence through proactive monitoring, automation, incident management and scalability improvements while ensuring compliance with organisational policies and industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Define and manage Service Level Agreements (SLAs), Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and error budgets for Java‑based microservices and monolithic applications supporting passenger service systems.
• Lead root‑cause analysis for complex production incidents and implement preventive measures.
• Design and implement architectural enhancements to improve performance, scalability, resilience and high availability, including caching and distributed system design.
• Own the CI/CD pipeline standards, GitOps practices and infrastructure automation strategy.
• Set containerisation and orchestration standards (Docker, Kubernetes) and ensure on‑call escalation framework and post‑incident reviews.
• Evaluate new tools, provide reliability reporting and represent SRE in capacity planning and release readiness reviews.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Information Technology.
• 6‑8 years of experience in software engineering, SRE or production support of Java applications.
• Fluent English communication skills.
• Experience in the airline or travel industry, preferably with Passenger Service Systems, is a plus.
