Learning Support Assistant - Special Education

About the role

A client, an elementary school committed to inclusive education, is looking for a Learning Support Assistant to support the academic and social development of students with special needs. The role works closely with teachers and other professionals to create a positive and effective learning environment for all students. It is a full-time, on-site position in Dubai.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with diverse learning needs, implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Assist teachers in adapting curriculum and instruction to the individual needs of students with special needs
• Foster positive social interactions and emotional well-being among students with special needs
• Collaborate with teachers to track student progress and inform instructional decisions
• Maintain communication with teachers, parents and other professionals about student needs and progress
• Create a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Psychology or a related field (preferred), or at least 5 years of experience in special education within a school setting
• Strong understanding of child development and diverse learning needs
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to build rapport with students, parents and colleagues
• Adaptability, patience and flexibility in a dynamic environment
