Legal Counsel – FinTech (In‑house)

About the role

Join as the first in‑house legal hire in a scaling fintech, gaining broad exposure across lending, trade finance and regulation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead debt recovery, collections, and pre‑litigation activities across the UAE.
• Manage external counsel and oversee claims, enforcement, and litigation matters.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial, lending, and financing agreements.
• Advise the business on lending, trade finance, credit, and day‑to‑day commercial legal matters.
• Support new market entries, licensing activities, and corporate structuring initiatives.
• Partner with commercial, product, and operational teams to identify risks and deliver practical legal solutions.
• Develop legal processes, governance frameworks, and policies while monitoring regulatory developments.

Required profile

• Proven experience in debt recovery and pre‑litigation across the UAE.
• Ability to manage external counsel and oversee litigation matters.
• Strong competence in drafting and negotiating commercial and financing agreements.
