Legal Counsel

About the role

The Legal Counsel will support IFFCO Group’s legal team across a wide range of matters, including contract drafting, mergers & acquisitions, litigation, and corporate governance. This senior position requires independent management of legal affairs for a multinational FMCG conglomerate.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and vet major corporate and commercial agreements such as lease, licence and trademark usage contracts.
• Provide timely legal advice to business units and manage M&A documentation, including joint venture and share purchase agreements.
• Handle litigation matters by issuing notices, preparing case summaries, drafting pleadings and coordinating with external counsel.
• Oversee company incorporations, branch establishments, corporate secretarial duties and regulatory approvals across multiple jurisdictions.
• Conduct legal research, monitor law changes and advise management on potential impacts.
• Protect IFFCO’s intellectual property in collaboration with the group’s trademark attorney.

Required profile

• 10‑12 years of legal experience, with at least 5‑6 years in the GCC.
• Background in large multinational organisations, preferably in FMCG, retail, food, pharma or logistics.
• Strong expertise in high‑value commercial transactions, compliance and litigation.
• Knowledge of M&A, corporate governance, company incorporation and IP protection.
• Bar admission or practising attorney licence preferred; prior law‑firm experience in the Middle East is a plus.
