Legal Counsel

About the role

FIVE Hotels and Resorts, a luxury hotel group, is looking for a Legal Counsel to join its Executive Office team in Dubai. The role covers local and international legal matters, corporate law, trademark and regulatory compliance, and supports the group's growth projects.

Key responsibilities

• Manage local and international legal matters and supervise external counsel, reviewing submissions and court filings
• Oversee DIFC portal submissions and confirmations, and handle trademark issuance, renewals and compliance
• Handle quarterly legal confirmations and regulatory filings
• Draft, review and approve press releases submitted to Nasdaq Dubai and the London Stock Exchange
• Prepare board meeting documentation, including minutes and resolutions
• Review, draft and negotiate contracts such as sales and purchase agreements, leases, consultancy and MEP agreements, and novation agreements
• Coordinate due diligence with external counsel and advise on UAE labour law
• Prepare correspondence on real estate, trademarks, invoices and reinstatements, and legal disclaimers and terms and conditions
• Draft demand letters and initiate debt collection where needed
• Finalise engagement letters for external consultants and prepare termination notices
• Respond professionally to guest disputes and complaints on hotel charges and services

Required profile

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate law, with strong experience in complex corporate legal matters
• Expertise in Common Law and UAE Civil Law, with a background in top-tier international law firms or corporate legal departments
• Knowledge of corporate, real estate, finance and banking law
• Fluency in English and Arabic is mandatory; additional languages are a plus
• Ability to manage pressure, multiple priorities and extended hours

• Proven mastery of contract management, trademark law and regulatory compliance
• Tech-savvy, with knowledge of AI-powered tools such as Claude for legal research, drafting and document review
