Linux Administrator – Enterprise Systems (m/f/d)

About the role

The Linux Administrator will manage and secure enterprise‑wide Linux environments, ensuring systems are patched, hardened, and compliant with industry standards. You will work on OS‑level patching, kernel hardening, SELinux enforcement, and automation to keep downtime to a minimum in large‑scale, business‑critical infrastructures.

Key responsibilities

• Execute OS‑level security patching across RHEL, CentOS, Oracle Linux and related distributions.
• Align patching processes with CIS Benchmarks and DISA STIG standards and generate compliance reports.
• Perform kernel‑level hardening and configure SELinux policies to meet enterprise security requirements.
• Design, develop and maintain automated patching workflows using Ansible and Red Hat Satellite.
• Plan and carry out rolling updates, high‑availability strategies, and proactive system monitoring to minimise downtime.
• Maintain documentation of patch status, system configurations and automation scripts for audits.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Systems Engineering or a related field.
• 5–8 years of hands‑on Linux system administration experience in enterprise environments.
• Experience working in regulated industries such as banking is preferred.

Required skills

• Linux operating systems (RHEL, CentOS, Oracle Linux).
• SELinux configuration and troubleshooting.
• Kernel hardening and system hardening techniques.
• Ansible playbooks and Red Hat Satellite (or equivalent) for patch automation.
• Familiarity with CIS Benchmarks and DISA STIG compliance.
• Patch management, configuration management and automation scripting.
