M&A Manager

About the role

The M&A Manager works within the Strategic Assets team of the Emirates Investment Authority (EIA) and assists the M&A Director by leading M&A deal executions across various sectors in line with EIA's strategy. The workplace is on site.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the execution of M&A transactions, working with sector teams to build the investment thesis and run preliminary strategic, financial and legal assessments to reach a go/no-go decision.
• Build financial models and carry out financial and valuation analysis, including sensitivity and scenario analysis.
• Develop a framework for synergy assessment with sector teams.
• Prepare internal presentations and Investment Committee memos to seek investment approval.
• Liaise with internal risk, legal and finance functions, negotiate with targets and their shareholders, and report progress to the Chief Strategic Assets Officer and the Investment Committee.
• Oversee the workstreams of appointed advisors, including commercial due diligence, banking and financial advisors, and coordinate with them on negotiations, structuring and valuation.
• Share deal pipeline and market opportunities with sector teams and inform them of potential upcoming deals.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree (Finance, Business or Economics preferred); Master's degree preferred, MBA from a top school highly recommended.
• 10 years of deal-making experience in investment banking M&A or private equity.
• Track record of executing M&A transactions in the Middle East or internationally; regional experience preferred but strong international experience is sufficient.
• Able to influence management teams, boards of directors and government or private sector stakeholders.
• Expertise in EIA's current verticals (TMT, energy and power, logistics, healthcare, education, financial services) is attractive but not required.

• Strong presentation skills for internal presentations and investment proposals.
