Manager - Mechanical Engineering

About the role

We are seeking a Manager – Mechanical Engineering to lead maintenance and repair activities across our compressor stations, pipeline network, and metering/regulating stations in Sharjah. The role ensures safe, on‑time delivery of natural gas to customers while adhering to EMARAT’s SOPs, HSE policies, and best practices.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic priorities for the Gas Operations Department, ensuring compliance with company policies and best practice.
• Prepare and monitor departmental operating and capital budgets, analyse cash flow, control costs and approve operational expenses within authority.
• Provide mechanical engineering expertise on major rotating equipment such as gas turbines and compressors, corrosion control, pipeline cleaning and repair, and the operation of metering and regulating stations.
• Oversee planned maintenance activities, monitor performance, and generate timely management reports.
• Liaise with department managers to update on significant developments and drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Reports to the Vice President – Natural Gas Reliability & Projects.
• Supervises the Mechanical Engineering Section within the Natural Gas Reliability & Projects unit.

Required skills

• Mechanical engineering principles applied to gas infrastructure.
• Experience with gas turbines and compressors.
• Corrosion control techniques.
• Pipeline maintenance, cleaning and repair.
• Operation and maintenance of metering and regulating stations.
