Manager – Skills & Competency Framework

About the role

Edge Group is seeking a seasoned manager to lead the design and implementation of an enterprise‑wide skills and competency framework across its technology‑driven organization in Abu Dhabi. The role will shape the future workforce by creating robust competency architectures and supporting strategic capability planning.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end design, development and rollout of a company‑wide skills and competency framework.
• Create competency architectures, skills taxonomies, proficiency models and competency matrices for all functions and job families.
• Partner with business leaders and technical subject‑matter experts to identify critical current and future skills.
• Develop technical competency frameworks for engineering, technician and specialist roles, including proficiency standards and career pathways.
• Design assessment methodologies, scoring systems and evidence‑based evaluation processes.
• Conduct organisational skills gap analyses and provide insights for workforce planning and capability building.
• Collaborate with Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, HR Business Partners and Workforce Planning to embed the framework throughout the employee lifecycle.
• Benchmark the framework against leading engineering, technology and industrial standards.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years (120 months) of experience in competency framework design, skills architecture or related fields.
• Proven track record of leading large‑scale, cross‑functional HR or talent initiatives in a technology or defence environment.
• Strong analytical and strategic problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent stakeholder management and executive‑level communication skills.
