Material Engineer

About the role

The Material Engineer is responsible for preparing, coordinating, tracking and managing material‑related submissions and approvals for assigned projects. The role ensures compliance with project specifications, contractual requirements, standards and consultant requirements across landscaping, irrigation, hardscape, softscape, infrastructure and maintenance projects.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and submit material submittals, ensuring completeness, accuracy and compliance with project specifications and consultant requirements.
• Coordinate material sample preparation, mock‑ups and demonstration samples, and manage the approval process with consultants and clients.
• Arrange and monitor material testing activities, review test reports and maintain testing records.
• Verify compliance of proposed materials with project specifications, standards and authority requirements.
• Liaise with procurement, suppliers and project teams to obtain technical documents, certifications and support material approvals.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Engineering, Landscape Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Architecture or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in material engineering, QA/QC or construction materials management, with at least 2–3 years handling material submittals, sample submissions and testing coordination.
• Familiarity with UAE municipal requirements, consultant approval procedures and material testing standards is preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office applications.
• Experience with document control systems.
• Knowledge of material tracking systems and reporting tools.
