Mechanical Design Engineer – Expression of Interest

About the role

GHD Middle East is seeking experienced Mechanical, HVAC and Hydraulic Engineers to join its growing team. This expression of interest invites candidates of all levels to contribute to a variety of projects across the region, from concept design through to commissioning.

Key responsibilities

• Perform mechanical engineering design activities ensuring accuracy, technical quality and compliance with international standards.
• Develop calculations, drawings, specifications, reports and tender documentation from concept to detailed design.
• Collaborate with architecture, electrical, structural and specialist engineering teams for multidisciplinary coordination.
• Support project managers by monitoring progress, identifying risks and resolving technical issues.
• Identify process improvements and contribute to innovation initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Demonstrable experience in Mechanical, HVAC or Hydraulic design, preferably within the UAE.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication abilities.
• Familiarity with UAE regulatory standards and internal quality‑assurance procedures.

Required skills

• Proficiency with mechanical design software such as AutoCAD and Revit.
• Experience using mechanical calculation tools.
• Design of HVAC systems, mechanical plant, piping networks and equipment selection.
• Building Management Systems (BMS) design expertise.
• System integration and multidisciplinary coordination.
