Mechanical Design Engineer – Expression of Interest

About the role

GHD is seeking Mechanical Design Engineers to join its Middle East team in Abu Dhabi. The role involves delivering mechanical, HVAC and hydraulic designs for a variety of projects, supporting the full project lifecycle from concept to commissioning.

Key responsibilities

• Perform mechanical engineering design activities ensuring accuracy, technical quality and compliance with project requirements and international standards.
• Prepare and review calculations, drawings, specifications, reports and tender documentation from concept through detailed design, construction and commissioning support.
• Support multidisciplinary coordination with architecture, electrical, structural and specialist engineering teams.
• Identify process improvements and contribute to innovation initiatives across the engineering team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Demonstrable experience in Mechanical, HVAC or Hydraulic design, preferably in the UAE.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with excellent communication and coordination skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in mechanical design software such as AutoCAD and Revit.
• Experience with mechanical calculation tools and Building Management Systems (BMS) design.
• Knowledge of HVAC system design, mechanical plant, piping systems and equipment selection.
