Mechanical Engineer - Heavy Equipment

About the role

Al Marwan Group, founded in 1978 and active in construction, heavy machinery, oil and gas, real estate, development and hospitality across the GCC, is hiring a Mechanical Engineer for its field service team in Sharjah. The engineer delivers mechanical service, maintenance and repair support for heavy equipment in workshops and on site, working with service teams, spare parts staff and customers to minimise downtime and keep equipment running reliably.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic and powertrain issues in excavators, loaders, cranes, dozers, forklifts and dumpers
• Perform preventive maintenance, overhauls and breakdown repairs, including field service calls and emergency support
• Read technical drawings, service manuals and schematics, and carry out root cause analysis
• Inspect equipment, prepare service reports and job cards, and supervise field technicians and site activities
• Monitor job progress, quality, productivity and HSE compliance
• Coordinate spare parts needs with stores, procurement and workshop teams
• Support commissioning, testing and major overhauls

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering
• 2-5 years of experience in heavy equipment service, maintenance, field operations or spare parts coordination
• Experience in the UAE or GCC preferred; UAE driving licence preferred for field work
• Strong communication and reporting skills

Required skills

• Knowledge of heavy equipment mechanical systems, hydraulics, engines, transmissions and axles
• Troubleshooting and repairing complex mechanical faults
• Proficiency in MS Office and service reporting systems
• Ability to work under pressure and prioritise tasks
