Perfumer

About the role

The Perfumer leads fragrance creation, product development and laboratory operations. The role combines creative perfumery expertise with operational leadership, covering fragrance technology development, customer and supplier relationships and the launch of new products across the client's portfolio. It is an on-site position in Sharjah.

Key responsibilities

• Create fragrance formulations aligned with customer needs, market trends and brand positioning, and lead projects from concept to commercialization
• Evaluate and optimize fragrance performance, stability and quality, and run sensory testing and benchmarking
• Work with sales, marketing and product development teams to deliver customized fragrance solutions
• Oversee daily laboratory operations, set SOPs and quality standards, and ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations
• Manage laboratory equipment, maintenance, calibration and sample preparation; supervise testing, documentation and records
• Drive R&D, explore new ingredients and technologies, and support proprietary fragrance concepts
• Manage raw material inventory and consumables, coordinate sourcing and procurement, and evaluate suppliers on quality, cost, reliability and sustainability
• Lead and mentor laboratory and technical staff, assign priorities, monitor performance and provide training
• Present prototypes and technical recommendations to customers and support business development
• Ensure products meet regulatory and quality requirements, keep compliance documentation and support audits and certifications

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, Chemical Engineering, Perfumery or a related field
• Professional certification or formal training in perfumery highly preferred
• Minimum 7-10 years of experience in fragrance development, perfumery or laboratory management
• Proven experience in fragrance formulation and product innovation
• Experience managing laboratory operations and technical teams
