Mechanical Foreman (Fitout)

About the role

Careers International is recruiting a Mechanical Foreman for fitout projects in Dubai. The foreman oversees and coordinates mechanical works so that they are executed efficiently, safely and in line with design specifications, quality standards and project schedules. The role involves supervising site teams, coordinating with subcontractors and liaising with project engineers and site managers.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the installation, maintenance and testing of mechanical systems such as HVAC, plumbing and firefighting, and ensure work follows approved drawings, specifications and industry standards.
• Allocate tasks to site workers and subcontractors, monitor daily site activity and give progress updates to project managers.
• Carry out quality checks and inspections, and coordinate with electrical, civil and architectural trades for seamless system integration.
• Liaise with project engineers, site managers and subcontractors, attend site meetings and report on progress and challenges.
• Enforce health and safety policies, run toolbox talks and safety briefings, and ensure compliance with local safety regulations and company HSE policies.
• Plan and request materials and equipment in advance, manage their storage and use to minimise wastage, and maintain site records including daily reports.
• Identify and resolve technical issues, guide the workforce and propose solutions to project engineers or management.

Required profile

• Diploma or technical certification in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in mechanical works, including at least 3 years in a supervisory role within the fitout industry.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and firefighting systems, and ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications.
• Familiarity with health and safety regulations for mechanical works.
