Mechanical Gas Engineer – Design & Inspection

About the role

The Mechanical Gas Engineer will lead design reviews, inspections and commissioning of LPG, NG and SNG systems across UAE projects. You will ensure all engineering deliverables comply with local and international standards while supporting safe and efficient operations.

Key responsibilities

• Review and comment on gas system designs, pipeline layouts, P&IDs, tank farms and vaporizer systems.
• Verify compliance with DoE Gas Regulations, Unified Gas Code, ADNOC standards, UAE Fire & Life Safety Code, NFPA 54, NFPA 58, ASME, API and BS EN.
• Assess sizing calculations for pipework, demand, storage, regulators and relief valves.
• Conduct site inspections during installation, testing, commissioning and hand‑over phases.
• Witness and verify pneumatic, hydrostatic, tightness, functional and ESD system testing.
• Identify non‑conformities, issue NCRs and recommend corrective actions.
• Prepare design compliance reports, inspection reports and final certification documents.
• Support authority approvals, audits and HSE compliance, including risk assessments, HAZID, HAZOP and JSA reviews.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Gas or Petroleum Engineering (UAE equivalency required).
• Minimum 10 years of experience in gas engineering, design review or inspection.
• Proven experience with LPG, NG and SNG projects in the UAE.
