Mechanical Rotating Manager

About the role

Petrofac is seeking a Mechanical Rotating Manager to lead a team of engineers and designers across the full project life‑cycle, from field development studies through design, construction, and operational support. The role combines technical expertise with leadership to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers and designers.
• Provide mechanical engineering input for proposals, design, and execution of rotating equipment projects.
• Prepare technical procurement data in line with tender specifications and project schedules.
• Review Invitation to Tender (ITT) documents, identify scope, risks, and opportunities, and maintain a Risk & Opportunity Register.
• Critically assess equipment sizing, configuration, and cost‑saving opportunities.
• Conduct contract reviews to flag inconsistencies in scope, HSE, and technical requirements.
• Define clear scopes of work, plan engineering activities, and allocate manpower resources.
• Coordinate with project planning teams to set and achieve target completion dates.
• Develop manpower charts, recommend cost‑effective staffing, and monitor budgeted man‑hours.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising and leading engineering teams.
• Strong background in mechanical rotating equipment design and execution.
• Ability to manage the complete project life‑cycle from concept to operation.
• Experience with risk identification, mitigation, and opportunity management.
• Familiarity with contract review processes and procurement documentation.
