Mechatronics Engineer – Advanced Engines Architectures

About the role

The Mechatronics Engineer – Advanced Engines Architectures will join Powertech’s Advanced Propulsion team to design and implement actuation and control infrastructure for experimental propulsion systems. The role bridges mechanical, electromechanical, and control engineering to enable adaptive, multimodal engine operation.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop electromechanical actuation systems for variable‑geometry, valve and flow‑control mechanisms.
• Integrate motors, sensors, gear trains and embedded electronics capable of operating in high‑temperature, high‑stress environments.
• Build the infrastructure linking actuators, sensors and control units within advanced engine architectures.
• Develop feedback control strategies and multi‑domain models of mechanical, electrical and control dynamics.
• Prototype, assemble and test experimental propulsion subsystems, including instrumentation and data‑acquisition setups.
• Collaborate with propulsion, controls and electronics engineers to validate concepts.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics or a related discipline.
• 3–7 years of experience developing electromechanical or robotic systems.
• Proven experience integrating actuators, sensors and embedded control hardware.
