Medical Advisor – Immunology Gastro Gulf

About the role

The Medical Advisor will serve as the medical and scientific voice for AbbVie’s immunology and gastro‑enterology portfolio in the Gulf region. This role supports the affiliate’s medical affairs strategy, collaborates with cross‑functional teams, and builds relationships with external experts.

Key responsibilities

• Represent the affiliate’s medical/scientific expertise for assigned products and therapeutic areas.
• Provide medical and scientific advice to key customers, including external experts.
• Contribute to medical affairs strategies and commercial plans under the direction of the Affiliate Medical Director.
• Support cross‑functional teams and ensure integration of medical affairs within business execution.
• Develop and maintain in‑depth knowledge of assigned products through internal training, congresses, and literature review.
• Respond to scientific/technical information requests and ensure accuracy of medical dossiers (pricing, reimbursement, HEOR, information packs, etc.).
• Establish and maintain professional relationships with external experts and academic centers, including advisory boards and scientific meetings.
• Deliver scientific presentations and medical education programs to healthcare professionals.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MD, PharmD, or equivalent) with experience in immunology and gastro‑enterology.
• Demonstrated ability to engage with external experts and academic institutions.
• Strong understanding of medical affairs, health economics, and outcomes research.
• Excellent communication skills for scientific exchange and education.
• Ability to work collaboratively within cross‑functional affiliate teams.
