Medical Lab Technologist – Fertility Center

About the role

The Medical Lab Technologist will independently perform laboratory procedures and support the fertility centre’s diagnostic services, ensuring accurate and timely results while adhering to operational rules and procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct all laboratory procedures independently or under senior supervision.
• Supervise junior staff and ensure compliance with departmental policies.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment, report shortages and approve replenishments.
• Analyze specimens to identify normal and abnormal components.
• Capture lab results in computer systems and provide reports to physicians.
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment.
• Perform on‑call and shift duties, including weekends and public holidays.
• Promote continuous quality improvement and conduct method evaluation/development.
• Comply with safety, health, infection control, and environmental precautions.
• Maintain strict patient confidentiality and document all interventions.
• Support clinical audit processes and participate in training, committees, and orientation of new employees.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
• Ability to supervise junior staff and work on‑call shifts.
• Strong attention to detail and adherence to SOPs and quality standards.
• Professional communication skills with patients, physicians, and healthcare teams.
