Medical Laboratory Supervisor (UAE National)

About the role

The Medical Laboratory Supervisor will lead daily laboratory operations at Al Rahba Hospital, ensuring accurate test results and high‑quality service delivery. The role combines managerial oversight, technical supervision, and quality & safety governance within an accredited clinical laboratory.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate all laboratory activities, monitor performance of staff and service areas, and ensure timely, accurate reporting of results.
• Develop and implement departmental policies, strategic plans, and annual business plans in line with hospital objectives.
• Manage budgets, inventory, and cost‑improvement initiatives while maintaining compliance with accreditation standards (CAP, JCIA, CPAC).
• Oversee quality and safety programs, including infection control, environmental safety, and continuous quality improvement.
• Provide technical guidance, review laboratory findings, and communicate results to physicians.

Required profile

• UAE national with at least 3 years experience in an acute‑care hospital and 1 year in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Minimum 6 years clinical laboratory experience in an accredited facility and at least 2 years as a laboratory supervisor.
• Progressive leadership experience and ability to manage staff, budgets, and projects.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) for data entry and reporting.
• Knowledge of accreditation standards (CAP, JCIA, CPAC) and implementation of quality control procedures.
• Inventory management and stock rotation techniques to minimise wastage.
