Medical Science Liaison, Oncology

About the role

GSK is hiring a Medical Science Liaison for its Oncology therapy area in the Gulf, reporting to the Medical Affairs Manager, Gulf. The role covers the medical and clinical aspects of GSK's Gulf business in oncology and onco-hematology, based in Dubai, and focuses on scientific exchange with healthcare professionals and clinical trial support.

Key responsibilities

• Drive scientific exchange with healthcare professionals to improve their understanding of the data and support optimal patient care in the Gulf
• Capture scientific insights from the external environment to support GSK's research and medical strategy
• Identify investigators and sites for clinical trials and support clinical trial recruitment
• Attend congresses, organize advisory boards, and coach other MSLs on field medical responsibilities
• Ensure activities follow regulatory and corporate guidelines and support the functional and departmental program strategy
• Represent management in field interactions, support clinical research programming (investigator-sponsored, cooperative group, company-sponsored trials) and provide regular business updates
• Promote compliant work practices, safe use of research compounds and products, and act as a scientific, clinical and medical content expert
• Partner with Medical Affairs functions and maintain a compliant partnership with the Sales team

Required profile

• Medical doctor, medical degree or life sciences degree; postgraduate studies an advantage
• Proven experience in MSL roles in therapeutic oncology, preferably lung or gyn-oncology within the last 2-3 years
• Understanding of the local healthcare environment, including health technology assessments and market access
• Knowledge of pharmaceutical ethics, governance and compliance policies
• Willingness to travel extensively across the Gulf and globally
• Fluent English; Arabic is an advantage
