Medical Science Liaison - UAE

About the role

Amgen is hiring a Medical Science Liaison for the UAE. The role acts as the primary interface and field-based guide in the region, working with external medical collaborators to share and generate data across the Gulf, alongside other field-based Amgen functions. It focuses on the Inflammation (Rare Disease) therapeutic area.

Key responsibilities

• Work with healthcare decision makers to communicate and advance the scientific platform in line with company goals
• Lead Inflammation (Rare Disease) medical affairs activities in the Gulf under defined local launch and brand strategies
• Train members of the speaker bureau and keep them updated on new data
• Share clinical and economic information with payers and formulary decision makers
• Summarize field trends, market insights and unmet needs, and represent the company at medical education events, programs, meetings and congresses
• Support investigator-sponsored trials and Amgen-sponsored research, coordinate with Clinical Development and Clinical Operations on field support and site selection, and provide training to contracted speakers
• Engage with influential members of the therapeutic area medical community and healthcare collaborators in the Gulf
• Report scientific interactions on the ALIGN reporting system, maintain accurate OL coverage and interaction profiles, and partner with collaborators to improve patient care

Required profile

• Proven experience in the pharmaceutical industry (Clinical Development, Medical Affairs, Clinical or Commercial Operations)
• Preferred: prior experience as a medical science liaison or in the therapeutic area
• Advanced clinical or science degree (e.g. MD, PhD)
• Proficiency in English and local languages; meeting visa requirements to work in the UAE

Required skills

• Moderate to advanced knowledge of medical education and qualitative/quantitative research standards and reporting
• Moderate to advanced knowledge of medical writing
• Digital proficiency
• Preferred: clinical study management, scientific publication, GCP, biostatistics, epidemiology, and regulatory and drug safety knowledge
