Merchandising Director

About the role

Foreground is partnering with a top‑tier electronics distributor to find a Merchandising Director who will lead product assortment, vendor relationships, and pricing strategies across multiple categories.

Key responsibilities

• Define merchandising strategy for electronics categories such as mobiles, laptops, appliances and accessories.
• Negotiate terms with global and regional suppliers to secure competitive pricing and exclusivity.
• Develop seasonal and promotional product calendars to drive category growth.
• Track sales performance, market trends and competitor positioning to adapt strategies.
• Collaborate with supply‑chain teams to ensure accurate demand planning and inventory optimisation.
• Lead, mentor and coach a team of category managers and buyers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain or related field; MBA preferred.
• 10+ years of merchandising or category‑management experience in consumer electronics.
• Strong network with global and regional electronics suppliers and brands.
• Commercially sharp with advanced negotiation and vendor‑management skills.
• Data‑driven mindset with strong analytical capability.
