Microbiology Technologist

About the role

The Microbiology Technologist performs a broad range of routine and advanced microbiological testing procedures to support the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of infectious diseases. The role works under the direct supervision of the Microbiology Supervisor and the Director of Microbiology.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine and specialized microbiological testing, including bacteriological, mycological, parasitological, and virological analyses on clinical specimens.
• Conduct antimicrobial susceptibility testing and ensure timely, accurate reporting of results.
• Assess specimen acceptability, manage reagents and inventory, and maintain documentation in the Laboratory Information System.
• Perform quality control, proficiency testing, and ensure compliance with CAP, DHA, JCI standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in medical laboratory technology/microbiology or equivalent.
• Current valid DHA license for Microbiology Technologist.
• Minimum two years of experience in medical microbiology.
• Fluent English communication skills.
