Middle Python Software Engineer (AI/ML Backend)

About the role

You will join a focused engineering team building high‑throughput backend services for a multi‑product SaaS platform in the iGaming sector. Working alongside senior engineers and an engineering manager, you will own the design, implementation, and operation of production‑grade Python services that support personalization, recommendation, fraud detection, and emerging GenAI features.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain production Python services such as APIs, stream consumers, feature stores, scheduled jobs and background workers.
• Write and optimise SQL schemas and queries that underpin these services.
• Uphold engineering standards including code quality, testing, observability and disciplined deployments.
• Translate data‑scientist experiments into reliable, production‑ready systems.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve production incidents, and participate in on‑call rotations.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of backend engineering experience.
• Proven experience owning a service in production.

Required skills

• Strong Python, including async programming and data processing.
• Experience with Redis, Kafka and database client libraries.
• Deep SQL knowledge: complex queries, query plans, index design, transactions, isolation levels and concurrency.
• Familiarity with both relational and non‑relational data stores.
• Good working knowledge of Docker and CI/CD pipelines.
