Mid‑Senior Accountant – Finance (Abu Dhabi)

About the role

Terracotta is seeking an experienced Mid‑Senior Accountant to join its Finance team in Abu Dhabi. You will be responsible for accurate daily accounting, month‑end close, and supporting payroll, VAT and corporate tax processes while ensuring compliance and high‑quality client service.

Key responsibilities

• Record daily accounting transactions in the ERP system promptly and accurately.
• Post journal entries, maintain the general ledger, and process AP, AR, and employee reimbursements.
• Perform bank, payroll, inter‑company and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Support month‑end and year‑end closing activities, including accruals, pre‑payments and schedule preparation.
• Assist with VAT and corporate tax reconciliations and documentation.
• Prepare payroll accounting entries, validate them and ensure alignment with finance and compliance requirements.
• Provide audit support by preparing reconciliations and relevant documentation.
• Maintain proper accounting records, identify discrepancies and resolve accounting issues.
• Support management reporting and issue resolution as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 4–7 years of accounting experience in the UAE.
• Strong bookkeeping and general‑ledger expertise.
• Hands‑on experience with reconciliations and month‑end closing.
• Deep understanding of payroll computation, UAE labour law implications and cost‑allocation impacts.
• Experience in the manpower/staffing industry is preferred.

Required skills

• ERP systems – preferably Microsoft Dynamics 365 or FOCUS.
• Microsoft Excel – formulas, look‑ups, pivot tables.
• UAE VAT knowledge (basic).
• Exposure to corporate tax concepts.
• Bookkeeping and general‑ledger management.
• Reconciliation and month‑end closing procedures.
• Payroll accounting and validation.
• Audit documentation preparation.
