Mixologist

About the role

JW Marriott is hiring a mixologist for its Ion venue in Dubai. The role covers preparing guest drinks to recipe, serving wine and champagne, keeping the bar tidy, handling payments and completing closing duties.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare drink orders for guests according to specified recipes using measuring systems.
• Issue, open and serve wine and champagne bottles.
• Set up and maintain the cleanliness and condition of the bar, bar unit, tables and other tools.
• Prepare fresh garnishes, stock ice, glassware and paper supplies, transport supplies to the bar set-up area and wash soiled glassware.
• Anticipate and communicate replenishment needs, process all payment methods and count the bank at the end of the shift, resolving discrepancies and securing the bank.
• Secure liquors, beers, wines, coolers, cabinets and storage areas, and complete closing duties.
• Follow company and safety and security policies, report accidents and unsafe conditions, and complete safety training and certifications.
• Welcome guests, anticipate their service needs and thank them sincerely.

Required profile

• Able to stand, sit or walk for an extended period or an entire shift.
• Able to move, lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds without assistance, and to work in narrow, confined or elevated spaces.
• Able to read and visually verify information in various formats, including small print.
• Develops positive working relationships, supports the team and maintains confidentiality of proprietary information.
