Commis 1 - F&B Preparation

About the role

The InterContinental Hotel Dubai Festival City, part of IHG Hotels & Resorts, is looking for a Commis 1 in the kitchen (Anise) to prepare mise-en-place and support the F&B service. The hotel cluster includes four hotels, 16 restaurants and bars, an event centre, a spa and gym, and offers a competitive salary and benefits.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare all mise-en-place for day-to-day operation
• Maintain a healthy and hygienic work area
• Support the team with mise-en-place and storage pick-ups
• Prepare in advance the food, beverage, materials and equipment needed for service
• Clean and re-set the working area
• Communicate politely to guests and internal customers, and report difficulties and feedback to the supervisor
• Attend daily briefings, meetings and training sessions as scheduled
• Follow hotel and department regulations, including house rules, health and safety, grooming, quality, hygiene and cleanliness

Required profile

• Similar experience in a luxury restaurant or 5-star hotel environment
• Diploma or degree in Culinary Arts
• Good communication skills
• Committed to serving food of the highest quality
