Obstetrician and Gynecologist Consultant (High Risk)

About the role

The organization seeks a senior Obstetrician and Gynecologist Consultant to lead high‑risk pregnancy care. The role involves managing complex maternal and fetal conditions, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and delivering advanced prenatal diagnostics.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert care for high‑risk pregnancies, including maternal complications and fetal anomalies.
• Perform and interpret advanced prenatal imaging and diagnostic procedures such as fetal ultrasound, Doppler studies, amniocentesis, and chorionic villus sampling.
• Lead multidisciplinary case discussions with neonatology, genetics, radiology, and other specialties.
• Guide antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal management of complex obstetric cases.
• Develop individualized care plans in collaboration with obstetrics teams.
• Supervise and mentor junior medical staff, residents, and fellows.
• Contribute to clinical governance, quality improvement, and patient safety initiatives.
• Maintain comprehensive medical records in line with hospital policy.
• Engage in academic teaching, research, and continuing professional development.
• Ensure compliance with SEHA and Department of Health (DOH) regulations.

Required profile

• Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent) with completed specialization in Obstetrics & Gynecology.
• Valid DOH license (Abu Dhabi) or equivalent board eligibility (CCT UK, American Board, German Board).
• Minimum 8–10 years post‑specialization experience, with extensive exposure to high‑risk obstetrics.
• Previous experience with SEHA or GCC healthcare systems is advantageous.
