Officer - Alumni Engagement and Employability

About the role

The American University of Ras Al Khaimah (AURAK) is looking for an Officer - Alumni Engagement and Employability to join its Alumni and Career Services Department. The role strengthens alumni engagement, improves student employability and employment outcomes, and delivers career services programs. It builds relationships with alumni, employers and industry partners while helping students and graduates develop career readiness, access internships and jobs, and build professional networks.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and run alumni engagement initiatives such as events, networking, career talks and social activities
• Maintain accurate alumni records and databases and communicate effectively with alumni
• Involve alumni in guest lectures, industry panels, student development activities and knowledge-sharing
• Support career development programs, workshops and activities that build career readiness
• Guide students and graduates on CV writing, interview preparation, job search and career planning
• Connect students and graduates with employers, industry professionals and employment opportunities
• Build relationships with alumni employers, industry partners, professional associations and other stakeholders
• Organize career fairs, recruitment days, employer networking events, alumni panels and professional development workshops
• Create promotional materials and keep an up-to-date employer and industry partner database
• Track and report alumni employment and career progression data, and prepare regular reports on engagement and outcomes
• Support departmental policies, procedures, KPIs and annual plans

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Mass Communication, Education, Liberal Arts or a related field
• Desirable: a Master's degree in a related field
• At least 2 years of post-bachelor professional experience, preferably in a customer-facing organization
• Proven understanding of higher education and experience working with students, alumni and employers
• Fluent English and Arabic

Required skills

• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong organization and project management skills
• Preferred: knowledge of international higher education systems, especially the American model
