Operations & Maintenance Manager – Water Treatment

About the role

The company is seeking an experienced Operations & Maintenance Manager who will also act as a Commissioning Engineer for a water‑treatment plant in Sharjah. The role covers full‑life‑cycle management of plant performance, maintenance programmes and final hand‑over to the client.

Key responsibilities

• Take ownership of 24/7 plant operations across STP, MBR, MBBR, UF, RO and related technologies, monitoring KPIs such as throughput, recovery ratio, energy use and OPEX.
• Develop and execute preventive, predictive and condition‑based maintenance plans for mechanical, electrical and instrumentation assets.
• Lead a multidisciplinary team, ensure HSE compliance, conduct safety drills and enforce permit‑to‑work procedures.
• Prepare and present daily, weekly and monthly performance reports to senior management and clients.
• Drive the commissioning process from mechanical completion through cold and hot commissioning, performance testing and client acceptance.

Required profile

• 7‑10 years of experience in operations & maintenance within water‑treatment or related industries, with proven managerial responsibility.
• Strong leadership, problem‑solving and client‑management abilities, and a results‑oriented mindset.

Required skills

• Process knowledge of MBBR, MBR, SWRO, BWRO, UF, filtration, de‑mineralisation and brine recovery.
• Proficiency with PLC and SCADA systems, HART/Modbus protocols, loop diagrams and cause‑effect matrices.
• Experience in QA/QC documentation, commissioning checklists, inspection test plans (ITPs) and calibration reporting.
