About the role

The Pastry Commis I supports the Chef de Partie in daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth mise‑en‑place, proper food storage, and adherence to hygiene standards. This entry‑level position offers hands‑on experience in a busy hotel pastry department located near Dubai Airport.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Chef de Partie with mise‑en‑place preparation and service.
• Execute orders from the Chef de Partie accurately and timely.
• Complete daily checklists for mise‑en‑place and food storage.
• Prepare dry‑store, food requisition, and kitchen transfer forms for Head Chef approval.
• Maintain good relations with team members and motivate staff.
• Follow portion size, quantity, and quality specifications from the recipe index.
• Attend daily briefings and other meetings as required.
• Monitor information boards for banquet changes and other updates.
• Report equipment issues to the Chef de Partie and ensure follow‑up.
• Hand over shift information and maintain HACCP and hygiene records.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in a pastry or kitchen environment.
• Oral and written proficiency in English.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented setting.
