Ph.D. in Civil Engineering – Highway/Transportation Faculty

About the role

AAU is recruiting a Civil Engineering faculty member at the level of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor, specializing in Highway/Transportation Engineering. The position requires a Ph.D. from a reputable international university and outstanding credentials in the field.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver courses in the specified discipline areas, including specialized courses in general engineering, mechanics and statistics; knowledge of construction management and other civil engineering courses is a plus.
• Evaluate and monitor student progress and give feedback to support student success.
• Carry out quality research and publish in journals of high repute.
• Take part in curriculum development and course management aligned with university and college standards.
• Contribute to college and university initiatives and to accreditation work at local and international levels.
• Guide students toward careers locally, regionally and internationally and maintain supportive student relationships.
• Participate in community engagement activities that benefit the university and the local community.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from a reputable international university in Highway/Transportation Engineering.
• Proven track record of university-level teaching with at least 2 years of experience.
• Research published in journals indexed in the Scopus database.
• Ability to communicate orally and in writing in Arabic and English.
• Dedication to professional development and to renewing and developing curricula.
