Physical Therapist – Pediatric Respiratory Specialist

About the role

Provides direct patient care, conducts assessments and re‑assessments, and establishes goals and care plans for physiotherapy services using a range of therapeutic techniques, with or without assistive medical devices. The role also oversees the management of paediatric in‑patients with complex respiratory conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Manage in‑patients aged 0‑18 with respiratory conditions such as non‑cystic fibrosis bronchiectasis, Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia, neuromuscular disorders and those with tracheostomies or long‑term ventilation.
• Run specialist respiratory clinics and handle an outpatient caseload, providing advisory and liaison services to patients, families and multidisciplinary teams.
• Supervise junior physiotherapists and staff nurses, provide cross‑cover for PICU and NICU, and participate in on‑call, late‑shift and weekend duties.
• Maintain compliance with safety, equipment calibration, infection control and clinical policies, reporting incidents and equipment issues as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy or Physical Therapy.
• Current practising licence in the UAE (DHA) or country of origin.
• Minimum two years post‑qualification experience as a Junior Physiotherapist/Physical Therapist.
• Fluent written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Respiratory physiotherapy techniques.
• Ventilator and non‑invasive ventilation (NIV) management.
• Use of assistive medical devices and equipment calibration.
