Physics Teacher – Immediate Hire

About the role

The Virginia American School is seeking an enthusiastic Physics Teacher to join its high‑school team on an immediate basis. You will be responsible for delivering engaging, enquiry‑based physics lessons to both boys and girls, fostering a love of science and supporting student achievement.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high‑quality Physics lessons for secondary students.
• Monitor, evaluate and report on student progress and attainment.
• Implement enquiry‑based teaching and connect learning to real‑world contexts.
• Use assessment for learning to personalise and accelerate student outcomes.
• Develop short‑, medium‑ and long‑term curriculum plans for the subject.
• Apply inclusive strategies for diverse learners, including higher/lower attaining, EAL, SEN, Emirati and G&T students.
• Collaborate with the Principal and undertake any other reasonable teaching duties.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Physics; PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Minimum one year of recent experience teaching secondary Physics.
• Demonstrated excellence in classroom practice and pedagogy.
• Commitment to continuous professional development.
• Experience with digital learning tools and ICT integration.
• Effective communication with parents and ability to manage behaviour and child‑protection responsibilities.
• Knowledge of the UAE school system; familiarity with the American curriculum is desirable.
• Interest in middle‑leadership development.
