Plant Manager - Electroplating Line Build & Operations

About the role

Electrogenos is building a first-of-a-kind plant for electrolyser stack manufacturing, a greenfield fit-out inside an existing warehouse in Abu Dhabi. The Plant Manager designs, specifies, installs and commissions the electroplating line and its automation, then runs the plant. The role reports directly to the CEO and is on-site.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the fit-out and commissioning of an electrodeposition line for coating large metallic electrodes, and the electrode stacking and assembly line, including equipment, tanks, chemistry, rectifiers, rinsing and effluent treatment.
• Set up basic product characterization and quality control, with dimensional, coating and electrochemical checks and pass/fail criteria.
• Own safe handling of plating chemistries: EHS systems, permits, chemical storage, ventilation, effluent treatment and compliance with UAE regulations.
• Transfer processes from R&D into repeatable, documented production, working with the UK and Spain technical teams.
• Run day-to-day operations: production schedule, throughput, yield, cost, maintenance and on-time delivery.
• Build and lead the plant team, manage suppliers and subcontractors, and establish a quality management system.
• Report to leadership on build progress, ramp status, quality, safety, cost and risks.

Required profile

• 10+ years of professional experience in industrial manufacturing or process operations.
• Proven experience managing a chemical or process plant end to end, and hands-on experience with industrial electroplating / electrodeposition, ideally including installation and commissioning from scratch.
• Construction and fit-out experience, able to run a build programme, contractor package and commissioning schedule.
• Team leadership: has hired, trained and run a production team.
• Fluent English, willing to be based on-site in Abu Dhabi; visa sponsorship / relocation support available.

Required skills

• Process qualification, quality control and basic characterization methods.
• EHS discipline around chemical handling and effluent.
• Desirable: hydrogen, electrolyzer or battery manufacturing experience, ISO 9001/14001/45001 knowledge, Lean manufacturing, and Spanish.
