Post‑Doctoral Associate – Land Economics Research (NYUAD)

About the role

The Center for Interacting Urban Networks at NYU Abu Dhabi is hiring a Post‑Doctoral Associate to support the LANDMark project, which investigates land economics, taxation and political economy. The position starts on 1 January 2027 and is based in the Social Science Division, close to the economics faculty.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct research on land‑price measurement and develop imputation techniques for missing data.
• Analyze determinants of land value, including public infrastructure, macro‑economic stability and taxation alternatives.
• Investigate the political economy of land taxation and its interaction with fixed resources and conflict.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams of economists, engineers, computer scientists and political scientists to design and lead specific research projects within CITIES.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in economics or a quantitative field, awarded within the last five years.
• Demonstrated research experience in land economics, housing, macro‑economics, labor, urban or spatial economics, or political economy.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and ability to work effectively in interdisciplinary teams.
