Practical Nurse – Emergency Room

About the role

The Practical Nurse provides patient‑centered care in the Emergency Room under the supervision of Registered Nurses. This role follows the Nursing Scope of Practice and the professional Code of Conduct for Abu Dhabi, supporting the organization’s mission and values.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and implement nursing care plans for emergency patients under RN supervision.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living, including meals and hygiene.
• Report significant changes in patient condition to the RN immediately.
• Respond to emergencies according to hospital policies.
• Maintain accurate verbal and written communication with patients and their representatives.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to deliver efficient, patient‑focused care.
• Document care and use electronic medical records (EMR) accurately.
• Support RNs and clerical staff with administrative duties as needed.
• Provide patients and families with comprehensive health information and resources.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
• Manage inventory of examination room supplies and prepare rooms for each patient.
• Room patients, record vital signs, and prepare them for exams or procedures in the outpatient clinic.

Required profile

• Practical Nurse qualification recognized in Abu Dhabi.
• Ability to work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Knowledge of the Nursing Scope of Practice and professional code of conduct.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work within an interdisciplinary team.
• Commitment to patient safety, confidentiality, and quality care.

Required skills

• Proficiency in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems for documentation.
